First-graders from the Switlik Elementary School, Jackson, recently had a chance to meet their pen pals from the Melvin Cottrell Center for Senior Citizens and the Disabled. Sheri Silversmith, senior center program administrator, said the children and the senior citizens have been writing to each other since December. The first-graders came to the senior center recently to meet their new friends, perform a concert, enjoy a pizza party and to work on a craft project with the seniors.
