      Being on the wrong side of games decided by a single goal proved to be the misfortune of the New Egypt High School boys lacrosse team. The Warriors finished the season with an overall mark of 9-11. Five of New Egypt's setbacks were decided by one goal.

      Pinelanders Youth Soccer Club, based in Howell, will host a New Jersey Select soccer camp from Monday, July 21, through Friday, July 25. Camp hours are 5:30-8:30 p.m. Camp will be held at Hugh Hoffman Fields in Howell. The camp is open to boys and girls, ages 4-14. Pinelanders membership is not required.

Another disappointing week for bass anglers

      It seems that everyone has the bluefish blues. The RaritanBay is producing very few, if any, keeper bass. This time last year you could not miss catching a trophy bass. Bass are being caught, but they are few and far between. Bunker are plentiful in the bay if you get them early before Great Kills Harbor is jammed upwith 50 boats clogging the entrance.
