DeBows UMC will host vacation Bible school
      The DeBows UnitedMethodist Church and the Cornerstone Presbyterian Church will offer a vacation Bible school program for the community 6:15-8 p.m. July 14-18 at DeBows Church, corner of routes 571 and 537, Jackson. Classes will be available for children 3 years of age through high school. The theme is "Beach Party: Surfin' Through the Scriptures.

      The Lakewood Board of Education will again be offering summer school classes for residents and nonresidents of Lakewood. Classes will be offered in the core subjects for grades 7-12 June 30 through Aug. 1 at the air-conditioned Lakewood High School.

Youth event slated for Jackson church June 21
      Jackson United Methodist Church, 68 Bennetts Mills Road, Jackson, invites the community to its annual youth event, "Illuminating Immersion II," 4-9 p.m. June 21. Free admission will include food, games and contemporary Christian music. This year's theme will be "Walking on Water.
