      High schools preparing for graduation festivities
      Total of 2,980 seniors in FRHSD will mark milestone in their lives
            Seniors in the six schools in the Freehold Regional High School District will celebrate a milestone in their lives when they mark their high school graduation on June 23. Ceremonies for a total of about 2,980 seniors will take place at 6 p.m. at the six FRHSD buildings.

      Pupils produce information on impact of vehicle idling
            JACKSON - Students at the Switlik Elementary School want an end to air pollution caused by idling vehicles, and they want to see laws that prohibit idling enforced. Councilman Scott R.Martin brought the students'desires to the attention of the public at the June 10 meeting of the Township Council.

      JMHS graduation set for June 19
            JACKSON - A class of 730 seniors will graduate from Jackson Memorial High School when graduation ceremonies for the class of 2008 are held on the school's Jack Munley Field at 6 p.m. June 19. Jackson Superintendent of Schools Thomas Gialanella said this graduating class will be the last one in the township to be made up of every 12th-grade student in the school district.

      New head of N.J. School Boards Association eager to get to work
            Harry Delgado was recently named president of the New Jersey School Boards Association and now he is looking ahead to starting his work. Delgado has been a member of the South Brunswick Board of Education for 13 years and is a former president of the Middlesex County School Boards Association.

      Return to school works out well for Howell man
            HOWELL - An unexpected twist in the journey of life prompted Dave DeMatteo to return to school in January 2005 at the age of 32. DeMatteo, 35, of Howell, worked for more than a decade as a corrections officer for the Middlesex County Department of Corrections until he was injured in an incident involving an inmate.
