      'Little Shop of Horrors' to be on stage in Jackson
            "Little Shop of Horrors" will be presented by HTC Productions at 8 p.m. July 25, 26, Aug. 1 and 2, and at 2 p.m. July 27 at the Jackson Memorial High School Fine Arts Auditorium, Don Connor Boulevard, Jackson. Advance tickets are $15 for adults, $12 for students and seniors. Tickets purchased at the door will cost an addition $2 each. Group rates are available.

      Jackson students win national photo awards
            Tom Eldershaw and Alyssa Kovacs, students at Jackson Memorial High School, were among 25 high school students from Monmouth and Ocean counties who received awards and recognition from the Ocean Camera Club High School Photography Competition's 2008 Youth Showcase, a national competition for high school photographers sponsored by the Photographic Society of America (PSA).

      Pine Creek Gang hits the rails at Allaire, July 19
            Trains will be leaving every 45 minutes beginning at noon on July 19-20 as the New Jersey Museum of Transportation at Allaire State Park, Route 524 (Atlantic Avenue), Wall Township, hosts The Great Train Robbery at Pine Creek.

      Area residents graduate from fire academy
            The Monmouth County Fire Academy in Howell graduated 72 volunteers from Firefighter 1 classes No. 75 and No. 76 on May 28, including the following local residents: Kyle A. Latham, Christopher Anderson, Jason Barritta, Andrew A. Dookie, John J. Gilgannon III, Michael Hubert and William Patelis, all of Howell; and Robert Migliore of Jackson.

      Funtasia Festival for Kids at Ocean County Park
            The 14th annual Funtasia Festival for Kids will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. July 18 at Ocean County Park, Route 88, Lakewood. The free festival, sponsored by Ocean County Parks and Recreation, will feature a Wild West show, a magic show, music, games, free inflatable rides, magic, music, sports, games, crafts, strolling entertainers and more.
