The name of the game is chess, and that is what (l-r) Nick Gallis, Jeremy Brown, Will Koesis and William Carroll, all of Howell, were playing at Howell Middle School South on July 30. The 11-year-olds were participating in "Chess Child," a program offered by Prevention First of Ocean Township, funded by the Howell Municipal Alliance and provided through the Howell Parks and Recreation Department's summer program. "Chess Child" teaches youngsters how to improve their decision-making skills and helps them to understand the consequences of their actions.
