Donations sought at food pantry open house The Jackson Women of Today will host an open house from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Oct. 11 at the Jackson Food Pantry in the DPW building, 10 Don Connor Blvd., Jackson. Donations of soup, canned vegetables, cereal, tuna, pasta, sauces, peanut butter, jelly, toiletry items and paper goods are needed by the food pantry. According to the Jackson Women of Today, due to an increase in the number of families the food pantry serves, the food supply is low and help is needed to meet the need for its October distribution. In August the food pantry saw an increase of 40 families requiring assistance. Those who stop in to donate will be given a tour of the facility, if they wish.
