Mr. Herman, 98, of Jackson, died Sept. 10, 2008, at Bella Terra in Jackson. He was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., and had lived in Aventura, Fla., before moving to Jackson five years ago. He was married to his wife, Helen, who died in 2006, for 74 years. Mr. Herman is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Phyllis and Sam Schussler of Jackson; a son and daughter-inlaw, George and Jeri of Calabasas, Calif.; a sister, Evie Somers of Brooklyn; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Graveside services were held at Mount Hebron Cemetery, Queens, N.Y. Memorial donations may be made to B'nai B'rith, Susan G. Komen for the Cure, or Habitat for Humanity.
