      Warriors' coach hopes winning streak continues
      Howell, Jackson Memorial both 1-1 on the season
            Twice before in school history, the New Egypt football team has started its seasonwith a 3-0 mark. In 2004 and 2005, the Warriors got out of the gates quickly, winning the first three games convincingly before eventually losing.

      Jackson Memorial Jaguars boys soccer still in the game
            JACKSON — Jackson Memorial High School boys soccer coach Steve Bado isn't quite ready to press the panic button. True, the Jaguars are off to a rough 3-5 start, but Bado feels it's only a matter of time before Jackson straightens itself out.

      Boys A North soccer is Shore Conference's best
            Todd Briggs summed up A North boys soccer this way: "It's like a 14-game round robin," he said. "Everyone knocks everyone else off." Briggs' Freehold Township Patriots are one of the teams that are right in the middle of this round-robin gauntlet. They are one of five teams that could eventually lay claim to the title that Howell has held the last two years.

            The Howell South Sox, a 12-year-old team from the Ramtown section of Howell, experienced a young baseball player's dream recently when they participated in the National American Tournament of Champions Week in Cooperstown, N.Y., home to the Baseball Hall of Fame. Games were played in Dreams Park.
