Mrs. Olkiewicz, 58, of the Parlin section of Sayreville, died Sept. 23, 2008, at home. She received a master's degree in education from Jersey City State College (now New Jersey City University), Jersey City. She was employed by the Bayonne Board of Education as an English teacher for the past 35 years. Surviving are her husband, Peter J. Olkiewicz; her sister, Jackie Portee and her husband Paul, of Howell; her brothers, Jeffrey Platania and his wife, Ginny, of Franklin, and Thomas Platania, of Howell; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral services were held at the Carmen F. Spezzi Funeral Home, Parlin. Entombment was at Holy Cross Chapel Mausoleum, North Arlington.
