Your article regarding the proposed toll increase ("Turnpike Authority Approves Toll Hike," Tri-Town News, Oct. 16) was very informative. Tolls in New Jersey have been around for over 50 years, thus suggesting that they are necessary. More...
I've hit some rough spots in my parenting years. I've doctored skinned knees, jammed thumbs and stubbed toes. I lived through Barney, Power Rangers, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and sacrificed my bath towels for Batman capes as I watched the children launch off the chairs and swing through the kitchen on a makeshift rope. Last May, I wrote a column bemoaning that my white whale of a Ford 150 pickup had all the resale value of the ubiquitous exercise equipment you see at yard sales. Drive by a yard sale at the end of the day, and chances are the used dishes and pots and pans and tools, and even the portraits of Elvis on velvet have been snapped up. More...
Dear Greg: There's no joy in Mudville for Red Staters these days, old friend, as even ardent supporters of John McCain predict big trouble come Election Day. I heard James Carville say of McCain the other day, "Stick a fawk in 'im. He's done. More...
