            There was never any doubt in Patti Nicholson's mind that her club was going to come out on top. The New Egypt High School field hockey coach was confident the Lady Warriors' offense would eventually find a way to break through and snap a scoreless tie.

      Fobes, Ecklof lead Howell to Central Jersey title
      Finish one-two in all-around; state championships are next
            Howell High School's gymnastics team wanted to do it all this year, and they have. By all, the Rebels meant getting to Friday's NJSIAA Gymnastics Team Championship at Hunterdon Central High School. To get there, the Rebels made some history Saturday, capturing the Central Jersey Section I championship held at Manalapan High School for the first time.

      Andrews, Leininger one-two in CJ race
            Robby Andrews conquered the elements as well as a very strong field to capture the Central Jersey Group IV cross country championships. The stormy skies opened up just as the Group IV race went off Saturday at Thompson Park in Jamesburg, adding an additional challenge for the harriers.
