Board members erred in raising superintendent's pay

Recently, entrenched incumbents of the Jackson Board of Education, Marty Spielman and Marvin Krakower, had the nerve, arrogance and utter disregard to vote yes for extending the already lucrative contract of our superintendent of schools.

Not only did this contract extend the years of employment we taxpayers are stuck with this superintendent who has under-performed, but this contract raised the superintendent's already high salary packed with perks. This extension and raise is not only ridiculous given the poor performance of the superintendent, it is offensive during the economic times we are all facing these days.

However, board member John Morvay had the guts to vote no to this raise. John Morvay understands the meat and potatoes of the situation and only Morvay had the guts to stand up and say no.

Spielman, Krakower, shame on you. As for board member Morvay, hip hip hooray.
