Kimball Medical Center, Lakewood, physicians Dr. Vince Moss, urologist, and Dr. Vance Moss, a thoracic surgeon, were recently honored by the Friends' Health Connection, a national organization dedicated to connecting individuals who have been diagnosed with the same disease.
At a dinner held at The Imperia in Somerset, Drs. Vince and Vance Moss were each presented with the Frances Black Humanitarian Award in Healthcare.
This award was established 10 years ago by the Friends' Health Connection to recognize excellence in health care throughout New Jersey, and is bestowed upon individuals who go above and beyond to touch the lives of others.
"We are extremely proud of both physicians," said Dr. Anthony Lombardino, vice president of Medical Affairs at Kimball Medical Center. "Their charitable work, which includes providing free medical services to Iraqi and Afghani children while they were stationed in those countries, as well as arranging to bring some of those children to the United States so they can perform surgery here, warrants this special recognition."
The Lakewood BlueClaws and Gold Bond Building Services have announced that a partnership that began with the Blue- Claws' inaugural season of 2001 has been extended under a new five-year contract. Gold Bond will continue to provide janitorial and maintenance service to FirstEnergy Park, Lakewood, in 2009 and beyond. Gold Bond Building Services is one of the oldest building service contractors in central/southern New Jersey and has been providing cleaning maintenance and sanitation related services to businesses and buildings for more than 25 years.
Bartley Healthcare Nursing and Rehabilitation, Jackson, recently passed a voluntary state advisory standards survey with an exceptional score, successfully meeting all 19 standards. Bartley's participation in this voluntary survey reaffirms the organization's confidence and commitment to excellence in resident care.
During an inspection by the Department of Health and Senior Services, Bartley earned recognition for achieving compliance with advisory standards in the following areas: access to care, resident activities, administration, resident assessment care plan, communication, dental services, dietary services, infection control sanitation, medical services, nursing staff, quality of care, pharmacy, physical environment, quality assessment assurance, medical records, rehabilitation, social work, respite care services, and Alzheimer's/dementia programming.
The Lakewood Chamber of Commerce invites all members and nonmembers to its general membership/industrial luncheon meeting to be held Jan. 7 at Charlie Brown's Steakhouse, 400 Route 70, Lakewood. The cost is $35 for members and $40 for nonmembers.
