Blood drives will be conducted by the Central Jersey Blood Center from 4:30-8:30 p.m. Feb. 6 at the Knights of Columbus, 401 Bartley Road, Jackson, and from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Feb. 8 at The Enclave, 65 Enclave Blvd., Lakewood. L'Aura L. Hladik, founder and director of the New Jersey Ghost Hunters Society and author of "Ghost Hunting: New Jersey," will present a program about ghosts, Bigfoot, Ouija boards, séances, crop circles and more at 2 p.m. Feb. 7 at the Jackson library, 2 Jackson Drive, Jackson. A barn dance hosted by Howell Recreation and the Stars Thru Squares will be held from 8-10:30 p.m. Feb. 11 at Echo Lake Pavilion, Howell. The free event will feature square dance caller Manny Amor. The Howell Chamber of Commerce Education Foundation will hold a fundraiser at Carino's Italian Grill, 4731 Route 9 South, Howell. Guests dining at Carino's Italian Grill from 4-10 p.m. Feb. 12 can use a special voucher to donate 15 percent of their check toward the scholarship fund to help local high school seniors earn money for college costs. Jackson Gives Back, a not-for-profit corporation dedicated to helping Jackson residents in times of crisis, will sponsor its second annual Father-Daughter and Mother-Son Valentine's Dance. The event will take place from 7-10 p.m. Feb. 13 at the Amvets building at 1290 Toms River Road (Route 571), Jackson. • A fish fry sponsored by the New Egypt Elks, 105 Lakewood Road, New Egypt, will be held on Feb. 13 from 6-8 p.m. The cost for a fish dinner is $9 (two pieces) and $10 (three pieces).
