      Rebels edge Jags to win District 21 crown
      Grapplers end team reign of Jackson Memorial
            The Howell High School wrestling team turned disappointment into triumph on Saturday. Reeling from a pair of team tournament losses (to Brick Memorial in the Shore Conference Tournament and to Hunterdon Central in the NJISAA Central Jersey Group IV tournament), coach John Gagliano reminded his wrestlers that all was not lost.

      Rebels will play for Dowd Cup
            The Howell High School ice hockey team, which is playing in its first varsity season, will play for the Shore Conference Dowd Cup championship on Feb. 27. The Rebels advanced to the championship game on the strength of a 10-0 victory over Red Bank Regional in the Dowd Cup semifinals on Feb. 23.

      New Egypt captures first basketball title
            At the start of the 2008-09 season, players and coaches of the New Egypt High School boys basketball team made a pact that this would be the season the program took a huge step forward. After all, the Warriors were returning a solid nucleus of players who had varsity experience, not to mention a ton of talent.

      Rebels win bowling crown
            The Howell High School boys bowling team picked the right time to put it all together. The Rebels rolled up a score of 3,108 pins to top St. John Vianney High School (2,916) by almost 200 pins to win the Monmouth County championship for the second straight year.

            Justin Lindsey of Jackson has been named interim assistant men's and women's track and field coach at The College of New Jersey, Ewing. Lindsey, a 2002 graduate of Rider University, Lawrenceville, comes to TCNJ after serving for the past three seasons as a volunteer men's assistant track and field coach at Princeton University.
