      Vendors sought for spring craft fair
            JACKSON — A spring craft and vendor fair will be held at the Jackson Township Volunteer Fire Company, 113 New Prospect Road, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. March 22. Craft and vendor spaces are available. For information, call 732-370-2180. Proceeds will benefit the firehouse.

      Mothers Center to hold gift auction
            The Mothers Center of the Jersey Shore will hold its 17th annual gift auction at 5:30 p.m. March 26 at the Ramada Inn in Toms River. Tickets are $30 and include dinner, dessert, soft drinks, door prizes and one ticket for the grand prize. Tables for up to 12 people can be reserved.

      Trip to 'Stars on Ice' planned for March 28
            The Lakewood Community School has scheduled a trip to the Stars on Ice show on March 28 at the Izod Center (Meadowlands). "On the Edge," produced by Olympic skater Scott Hamilton, will feature Olympic, world and national champion skaters. The $70 fee includes bus transportation and admission. The bus will depart from the Lakewood municipal building at 12:45 p.m. for a 3 p.

      Benefit to aid teacher who is battling cancer
            Dr. James Herzog, a chiropractor in Freehold, will hold a two-day fundraiser on March 21-22 to benefit the Silvestri family. Vincent Silvestri is a Howell High School teacher who was diagnosed with cancer which will result in long-term treatments as well as taking off many days of work, according to a press release.

      Library to hold 'Food for Fines' April 12-19
            The Ocean County Library will provide its customers an opportunity to combat hunger as well as reduce their library fines during National Library Week, April 12-19. The accounts of customers with outstanding fines will be credited up to 50 cents for each canned food item donated to any of the library's 21 locations during that week.

            • A fish fry sponsored by the New Egypt Elks, 105 Lakewood Road, New Egypt, will be held from 6-8 p.m. March 13 at the lodge. The cost for a fish dinner is $9 (two pieces) and $10 (three pieces). Chicken will be available for $8 (two pieces) and $9 (three pieces). All children's dinners are $5. Proceeds benefit charities supported by the Elks.
