• A fish fry sponsored by the New Egypt Elks, 105 Lakewood Road, New Egypt, will be held from 6-8 p.m. March 13 at the lodge. The cost for a fish dinner is $9 (two pieces) and $10 (three pieces). • The Orchards at Bartley, 100 North County Line Road, Jackson, is offering a free presentation to celebrate National Nutrition Month. "Eating Right at Any Age" will be presented from 1:30-2:30 p.m. March 17. Bartley's registered dietician, Jane Stoedter, will discuss the importance of eating right - especially among the senior population - and its effect on overall health. • New Jersey women through history will be explored at 2 p.m. March 14 at the Jackson library, 2 Jackson Drive, Jackson. Volunteers Cynthia Smith and Norvella Lightbody will tell the audience about outstanding women in education, government, sports and the arts from the pre-European period to the present day. • Howell Township Cultural Arts will present free winter concerts on Sundays at the Howell library, 318 Old Tavern Road. On March 15, Jennifer Mylod will perform traditional Irish songs and tunes. • The Jackson Municipal Alliance holds monthly meetings at the Jackson library, 2 Jackson Drive, Jackson, from 9-11 a.m. Meetings are scheduled for March 16, April 6, May 11, June 1 and July 6. The alliance is an organization dedicated to providing anti-alcohol, drug, violence programs, while promoting positive, healthy decision making and fostering good citizenship for all the residents of Jackson and others who attend these programs. • A boating class will be conducted by Coast Boating School from 7-10 p.m. March 18-19 at New Egypt High School, Evergreen Road, Plumsted. • Bat Shalom Hadassah of Jackson- Howell will hold its kosher Passover wine and cheese tasting event at Westlake Mews, South Cooks Bridge Road, Jackson, at 7:30 p.m. March 19. • The Mothers Center of the Jersey Shore is holding its 17th annual gift auction on March 26 at the Ramada Inn, Toms River. Proceeds will benefit local charities and the Mothers Center of the Jersey Shore.
