The Jersey Shore Association for Human Resources will hold its next meeting 8-10 a.m. April 16 at Jumping Brook Country Club, Neptune. John Jankowski and Stephen Kreuger of Mercer Consulting will share the results of their 2008 national survey on health care benefits. Gymboree of the Jersey Shore will commemorate its 10th anniversary at the Jersey Shore with events, promotions and celebrations for current and new clients. Gymboree of the Jersey Shore was opened in 1999 by Kathy Froelich, a mother of two who holds a bachelor's degree in engineering and a master's degree from Rutgers University.
She saw Gymboree as a way for parents and young children to interact and bond together in a safe, fun learning environment. Froelich currently owns two Gymboree locations in Ocean and Howell. To celebrate the anniversary, free "Gymbo the Clown" birthday parties and enrollment savings will be offered throughout the month of April.

Master Eric Alders' Karate Dojo, 21 South Hope Chapel Road, Jackson, will host a kick-a-thon from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. April 18. Proceeds from the event will be donated to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Prizes will be awarded directly from St. Jude to the students who raise money at a variety of levels. The Lakewood Chamber of Commerce will host its annual Staff Appreciation Day Luncheon at 11:30 a.m. April 21 at Vanity Fare Catering, 1600 Route 70, Lakewood. The Lakewood Development Corporation, the administrative arm of the Lakewood Urban Enterprise Zone (UEZ), is offering the public a free smallbusiness/ government contracting seminar. The seminar will be held April 17 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in Conference Room C of the Lakewood municipal building, 231 Third St., Lakewood.
The workshop, presented by NJIT Defense Procurement Technical Assistance Center, which has generated more than $30 million a year in new contracts for New Jersey small businesses, will explain the process of doing business with the state and federal governments. A question-andanswer period will follow.

The Urban Enterprise Zone program was designed to foster economic growth to revitalize and stimulate designated urban communities. The program encourages businesses to create private-sector jobs though public and private investment. More than 8,000 businesses throughout the state and more than 325 businesses in Lakewood benefit from tax and financial incentives. Personnel from the Lakewood UEZ are available to discuss program eligibility and answer questions.
