• A fish fry sponsored by the New Egypt Elks, 105 Lakewood Road, New Egypt, will be held April 10 from 6-8 p.m. The cost for a fish dinner is $9 (two pieces) and $10 (three pieces). • An Easter plant sale sponsored by Boy Scout Troop 258 will be held April 11- 12 at the following Howell locations: Sovereign Bank (Independence Bank) at the corner of Route 9 north and Salem Hill Road; Prince of Peace Church, Aldrich Road; PNC Bank, Route 9 and Strickland Road; and Arby's, Route 9 south.
• An Easter egg hunt for toddlers through age 10 will be conducted at 10 a.m. April 11 by the American Legion Auxiliary at Post 455, 2 Meadowbrook Lane, New Egypt, rain or shine. Every child will get a prize. Lunch with the Easter Bunny will follow the hunt. All children may participate for free. Adults charge: $2.
• "Color and You" will be presented by Ann Joy Becker, a certified interior decorator, at 7 p.m. April 14 at the Jackson library. Attendees will learn the basics of choosing the best colors for their décor based on their style and personality. The program is free and open to the public, but registration is requested. • The Jackson library, 2 Jackson Drive, Jackson, will host a Super Smash Brothers Brawl tournament at 6 p.m. April 15. Prizes will be awarded to the top winners and refreshments will be provided for everyone. Spectators are welcome to come and watch the fun. This community program is free and open to the public. • Parents of Autistic Children (POAC) invites the community to attend its third annual Walk-a-thon and Resource Fair slated for April 18 at FirstEnergy Park, 2 Stadium Way, Lakewood. • A Holocaust commemoration observance will be held at Congregation Ahavat Olam, 1075 Forest Ave., Lakewood, at 7:30 p.m. April 21 to mark the 70th anniversary of Kindertransport, when 10,000 young children were sent from Germany to England without their parents. This action was approved by the British House of Commons. The event will be co-sponsored by Congregation Ahavat Olam and Congregation Beth Ahm Shalom. Manfred Lindenbaum, one of the Kindertransports, will speak. A special youth meeting will begin at 6:30 p.m. All survivors are invited to light a memorial candle.
