As a graduate of New Egypt High School's class of 2008, I feel that I possess a special and unique perspective on our schools that most people do not. I am a lifelong resident of New Egypt. I have been in the school system from kindergarten to 12th grade. I had the privilege to serve as the student representative to the Plumsted Board of Education my senior year. More ... I have heard that New Egypt High School students are unhappy for the following reasons: The children can no longer eat on the floor in the hallways; the superintendent is no longer socializing with the students; the Board of Education does not care about the high school; class periods are longer; there is no school pride. Is there ever a right time to do a revaluation? The answer to that question depends upon your perspective. If I bought a house in 1990, my home has not been reassessed since then.
