It is time to disband Pinelands Commission
      I have a solution that will help the governor save money and balance the budget: eliminate the Pinelands Commission. It was established to preserve the designated land which makes up the Pinelands, but rather than preserving land, they are working hand in hand with developers to destroy areas of the Pinelands.

      To say that I left (the April 28) Jackson Township Council meeting shellshocked is an understatement. I know that there wasn't a full moon, but it sure felt like the werewolves were out and howling. And howling is a charitable way to put it.

      Taxes keep going up. Jobs are on the line and people are behind on their mortgages. These are real tough economic times, and we look to our elected officials to streamline government and make it work more efficiently. So why would Mayor Mike Reina decide that now is a good time to create all these boards, many of which are already in existence in one form or another?

Plumsted board member anxious to get to work
      I would like to take a moment to thank all of the New Egypt supporters who turned out for the school budget and school board election on April 21. The support I received from the community is overwhelming. Our approved budget clearly shows that our town as a whole cares deeply about our children and their education.

      An article that appeared recently in Greater Media Newspapers pertaining to state legislation (S-2577 and A-3772) that would allow for the conversion of certain age-restricted housing to non-age-restricted housing incorrectly stated that a municipality would not have a say in the proposed change.
