Havens signs with Albright football
New Egypt High School football standout Dakota Havens has signed a letter of intent to continue his football career at Albright College in Reading, Pa.
"I am excited about the opportunity to continue my football career at Albright College," Havens said. "[Albright] Coach [John] Marzka has been great through this whole process and I am excited to be playing for him."
New Egypt High School Supervisor of Athletics Rich Carroll said he was very proud of Havens.
"Not only is he a gifted football player, but he is an outstanding student as well," said Carroll. "He will make us even more proud in the years to come."
Following the 2008 football season, Havens received first team All-Conference recognition as a linebacker and second team All-Area recognition as a linebacker.
In addition to his outstanding play on the gridiron, Havens is also a basketball and baseball varsity letter winner for the Warriors.
Havens is an honor roll student and has participated in the American Cancer Society Relay For Life and the Fellowship of Christian Athletes.
This summer Havens will be playing in the Sunshine Classic All-Star Football Game at The College of New Jersey in Ewing Township.
