The New Egypt Storm U11 boys travel team defeated the Wall Vipers, 3-1, in a MOSA National 1 matchup.
"The boys have been playing with a lot of skill and determination this season. It has been a great experience to watch this group of boys develop over the past four and a half years," coach Ben Keaton said.
The Storm broke the game open on a breakaway pass from Garrett Cronin to Quaadir Palmer, who placed the ball in the lower left corner of the goal. Wall later tied the score in the second half.
The Storm responded when Chris Puma rifled a shot at the Wall goalkeeper off a Tyler Dey pass, causing the keeper to fumble the ball for an unassisted Jeremy Barkalow go-ahead goal. Palmer scored again with a chip shot over the keeper off an Andrew Agostinacchio assist.
Matthew Keaton, Jason Schenker, Chris Hurley and Mario Reed kept the offensive pressure on the Wall defenders throughout the game.
A "brick wall" was put up in front of the Storm goal by Tyler Herriott, Mark Barkalow, Andrew Jenkins and Kyle Aaronson, shutting down the Wall offense. Goalkeeper Timothy Blomgren allowed only one goal in 60 minutes of play.
