Free SAT I practice exam slated at library
      JACKSON — The Jackson library will host a free SAT I class conducted by an Ivy Insiders intern on June 13 from 9:45 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Lauren Brady, a sophomore at the University of Pennsylvania Wharton School of Business, will hold a free SAT I class in order to prepare students for their future exam and to give them the opportunity to take a full-length test.

Student selected for leadership conference
      Gregory Caldwell of Jackson has been selected to participate in the National Student Leadership Conference on engineering this summer at the University of Maryland. During the conference, the high school student will attend workshops and classes designed to develop the skills and traits that define a leader.

      A summer flea market fundraiser hosted by Allaire Village Inc. will be held from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. June 13 in the show field of Allaire State Park, Atlantic Avenue, Wall Township. Admission to the flea market is free, but the $5 per car entrance fee to the state park will be collected.

Doggy Yappy Hour planned at local park
      A Doggy Yappy Hour for dog owners and their canine companions will be held rain or shine from 6 to 8 p.m. June 12 at Ocean County Park, Route 88, Lakewood. The free event will feature a dog walk, Frisbee, obedience and agility demonstrations, and a special square dance for people with their doggy partners. All dogs must be vaccinated and on a leash.

Rock'n Music Idol finale set for June 7
      The search for the 2009 Rock'n Music Idol winners will end June 7 when the live finale begins at 4 p.m. at the Cliffwood Beach Veterans of Foreign Wars hall, 699 Cliffwood Ave., Keyport. The annual music talent search began in February with more than 600 contestants from throughout New Jersey auditioning for a chance at becoming the next Rock'n Music Idol.
