The film "Homeless in Lakewood" will be shown at 7 p.m. June 11 at the Lakewood library, 301 Lexington Ave. Following the screening the Rev. Steven Brigham will lead a discussion on the plight of the homeless in Lakewood. Details: 732-363- 1435, ext. 2502.

• A fish fry sponsored by the New Egypt Elks, 105 Lakewood Road, Plumsted, will be held from 6-8 p.m. June 12 at the lodge. Details: 609-304-8469.

A public hearing will be held at the Jackson Township Senior Center, 45 Don Connor Blvd., at 10 a.m. June 12 for the Ocean County Office of Senior Services. The topic will be the "Needs of Older Adults in Ocean County." The hearing is open to all Ocean County residents, age 60 or older, caregivers, and the general public. A Doggy Yappy Hour will be held rain or shine from 6-8 p.m. June 12 at Ocean County Park, Route 88, Lakewood. More than 30 vendors will be on hand with food, information, shopping and displays. There will also be demonstrations, music, and activities for dogs and their partners. All dogs must be vaccinated and on a leash. Details: 877-OCPARKS.

A summer flea market fundraiser hosted by Allaire Village Inc. will be held from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. June 13 in the show field of Allaire State Park, Route 524, Wall Township. The event will feature more than 100 vendors displaying new, used, and collectable treasures of all types, plus food. The rain date for the event will be June 14.

The Howell Historical Society, 427 Lakewood-Farmingdale Road, Howell, will host a yard/bake sale from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. June 13 (rain date June 20). Donations of gently used items may be left on the side porch of the historical society after June 5.

• A car show hosted by Jackson Pop Warner will be held from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. June 13 at the Jackson Pop Warner complex, 133 Manhattan St., Jackson. The event will feature rides for children, DJ, craft vendors, food vendors, new car raffle and a 50/50 raffle. All car makes and models may be entered. Trophies will be awarded.
