May 18 marked a special day for Dottie's House with the celebration of its10th annual Golf Classic at Eagle Ridge Golf Club's newly expanded 27-hole championship course in Lakewood.
A total of 105 golfers participated in the outing, raising more than $70,000 for the facility, which provides long-term transitional housing and support services for women and children who have survived domestic violence.

Carol Wolfe, executive director and founder of Dottie's House, thanked the Host Committee, co-chaired by Mark Wintjen and Hazel Gluck, and all of the sponsors, golfers, auction donors, dinner guests and volunteers.
"As we mark our 10th year, I see many of the same faces who have attended this annual event since 1999, and would like to thank you for your continued support," said Wolfe as she introduced two special guests: 17-year NHL veteran and 1995 Stanley Cup winner Jim Dowd, and NBC4 meteorologist Chris Cimino.
Both have been long-time supporters of Dottie's House, and Jim Dowd and his wife, Lisa Dowd, serve on the board of directors.
All golfers received Bolle sunglasses in a case embroidered with the Dottie's House logo, a hand-rolled cigar, a steak lunch and a gourmet dinner.
