      Jackson church to hold vacation Bible school
            Jackson United Methodist Church, 68 Bennetts Mills Road, Jackson, invites all children to be a part of its vacation Bible school, titled "Galactic Blast: A Cosmic Adventure Praising God."       Jackson Food Pantry receives donation
            The Jackson Democratic Club presented $500 to the Jackson Women of Today to be used for the Jackson Food Pantry. According to Democratic Club President Kevin Di- Gesu, the money was raised during a recent comedy club night. Attending the presentation were members of the Jackson Women of Today, Phyllis Lewis, Donna Sauers, Diane Stanaway and Suzanne Rogalsky, president.

      Hadassah plans membership dinner
            Bat Shalom Hadassah of Jackson-Howell will hold a membership appreciation dinner at 6 p.m. July 16 at Westlake Mews, Jackson. The group's regular monthly meeting will follow the dinner. New "life members" will be honored, multi-generational Hadassah families will be recognized, and a new "Tree of Life" will be presented. Reservations for the dinner are required.

      Luby Britt fishing tourney set for July 12
            The 13th annual Luby Britt Memorial Fishing Tournament for ages 13 and under will be held 9-11 a.m. July 12 at Oakford Lake Park. Registration will begin at 8:45 a.m. The event is sponsored by New Egypt Elks. Prizes will be awarded.
