Jags hope summer work will spark wins in fall

      Senior captains Mike Pendergast, a fullback who can play many positions, and Josh DeLorenzo, a midfielder, are leading summer workouts that began this week as the Jackson Memorial High School boys soccer team looks to leave behind an uncharacteristic 7-12 season in 2008 that fell short of qualifying for postseason berths for the first time in six years.

Roller hockey wraps up season
      The Jackson Roller Hockey League closed out its 13th season on June 19 with a free barbecue for all players and parents. Jackson Mayor Mike Reina was on hand to see the children play and was asked to participate in a ceremonial puck drop to start the championship games, according to a press release.
