      Plumsted schools offer many summer programs
            PLUMSTED — Children in Plumsted are having a summer of fun and learning. With programs for children of all ages, the Plumsted Township School District is aiming to meet the needs of about 350 children. One of the summer programs is the Warrior Day Camp, a nine-week summer program that began on June 22 and will run through Aug.

      Graduates entering military honored
            UPPER FREEHOLD — Two mayors were in attendance at the July 23 Township Committee meeting in Upper Freehold Township as both Upper Freehold and Jackson honored young men and women from the Allentown High School (AHS) class of 2009 who elected to serve in the military upon graduation.

      Board gives go-ahead to random drug tests
      FRHSD students who have 'privileges' will be subject to tests, board decides
            The Freehold Regional High School District is taking steps toward initiating random drug testing among students who are categorized as privileged. Privileged children as defined by FRHSD administrators are those students who participate in sports programs, afterschool activities and/or who have a parking permit for their high school.
