Prescription Bus to visit Jackson on Aug. 9 JACKSON — The prescription bus, sponsored by America's pharmaceutical research companies, will return to Jackson to assist those who are uninsured or struggling financially and in need of medications. "The number of people who are unable to afford their medication grows daily as more and more people lose their jobs," Township Council President Mike Kafton said. "This is a wonderful program that helps those who are either without insurance, are underinsured, or on COBRA, and because it was so successful when it was in Jackson in June, we thought it was a good idea to bring it back into town to help those residents who are in need." The bus will be at the Crawford-Rodriguez Elementary School, 1025 Larsen Road, from noon to 2 p.m. Aug. 9. The event, which is sponsored by Hope Cathedral Church, is free and open to the public. The "Help is Here Express" is equipped with computer terminals and mobile phones so people can find out if they may be eligible for help in obtaining their prescription medicines. Specialists will be on board the bus to make sure the application processing is quick and easy. When visiting the bus, attendees should know what medicines they are taking.
