      Frances G. Young
            Mrs. Young, 52, of Hazlet, died July 31, 2009, at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick. She had resided in Jackson and Marlboro before relocating to Hazlet 20 years ago. Mrs. Young was a teacher for 18 years, and taught for the last seven years at Middle Road School, Hazlet. She was predeceased by her father, Harvey Schonfield.

      Raymond Grassi
            Mr. Grassi, 79, of Lakewood, died at home July 31, 2009, after a long illness with ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease). A native New Yorker, he lived much of his life in Tinton Falls and Colts Neck before moving to Lakewood nine years ago. Mr. Grassi served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. In 1995 he retired from Arco Chemical Co.

      Joseph Negra Jr.
            Mr. Negra, 93, of Jackson, formerly of The Villages, Howell, died July 20, 2009, at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. He was an industrial engineer for Wallace and Diernan, Belleville, where he was employed for 42 years before his retirement. Mr. Negra was a bowling coach at Howell Lanes for 23 years and a volunteer for the New Jersey Tournament of Champions.

      Diana "Tish" Obal
            Mrs. Obal, 56, of Howell and formerly of Freehold, died July 31, 2009, at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune. She received her nursing degree in 1972 from Flushing Hospital School of Nursing. Mrs. Obal was the former sales manager at the West End Family Pharmacy, West Long Branch; prior to that, she worked as a nurse for the VNA of Central Jersey.

      Stefanie Hammerschmidt
            Mrs. Hammerschmidt, 89, a resident of Millstone Township for 50 years, died Aug. 1, 2009, at The Manor Nursing Home in Freehold Township. Born in Austria, she was a communicant of St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church in Millstone and a member of the Millstone Senior Citizens.

      Madine C. DeLucia
            Mrs. DeLucia, 84, died Aug. 6, 2009, at CentraStateMedical Center, Freehold Township. Born in Eden, Vt., she resided in Freehold Township most of her life. Mrs. DeLucia was a homemaker and communicant of St. Robert Bellarmine Catholic Church, Freehold Township. She is survived by her husband, Domenick J. DeLucia Sr.; two sons and daughters-in-law, Domenick J. Jr.

      Cecilia Roginski Grella
            Mrs. Grella, of Sayreville, formerly of South River, died July 25, 2009, in Care One, East Brunswick. Her husband, Edward, died in 1997, and a sister, Theodisa, died in 1999. Surviving are two sons, Edward Sr. of Morristown and Richard of Sayreville; a sister, Stella Misiewicz of Sayreville; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
