      JMHS band to host showcase
            JACKSON — The Jackson Memorial High School Jaguar Marching Band will host a Showcase of Champions beginning at 4:30 p.m. Oct. 3. The marching-band event will take place at the Jackson Memorial football field, Don Connor Boulevard.

      Wasser to step down as FRHSD supt. in June
      Agreement calls for him to oversee special projects during 2010-11 school year
            The end of the 2009-10 school year will mark the conclusion of James Wasser's tenure as the superintendent of the Freehold Regional High School District. Wasser, who has been the district's superintendent since November 1998, announced his resignation during the FRHSD Board of Education's Sept. 14 meeting at Manalapan High School.

      Teacher creates health rap DVD
            PLUMSTED — A local teacher has his students hip-hopping for health. Chris Wells, the health teacher at the Dr. Gerald H. Woehr Elementary School and the New Egypt Primary School, and his cocreator Kurtis Johnson have just released a DVD called "Hip-Hop Health: Learning Concepts Through Physical Activity.
