      'Benefit for Natalie' will aid child
            A"Benefit for Natalie" will be held on Oct. 24 from 3 to 7 p.m. at the Headliner in Neptune. The event will be an afternoon of fun for the entire family. Natalie is the 4-year-old daughter of a 13-year veteran of the Howell Police Department who has suffered from seizures since birth.

      Food pantry plans two Oct. distributions
            JACKSON — The Jackson Women of Today will hold two separate distribution dates for the month of October. A special distribution will be held from 5-6:30 p.m. Oct. 21 for clients of the food pantry who are handicapped or over 60 years old.

      Knights schedule Oct. 23 charity golf outing
            The Howell-Jackson Knights of Columbus Council No. 6201 will hold its 11th annual Charity Golf Scramble beginning with a shotgun start at 8 a.m. Oct. 23 at Gambler Ridge Golf Club, Cream Ridge section of Upper Freehold Township. All proceeds will be used to benefit the food basket program to help the less fortunate during the upcoming holiday seasons.

      Touch a Truck event will be held Oct. 25
            See cranes, military vehicles, municipal vehicles, fire trucks, ambulances and many other vehicles at the second annual Touch a Truck event to be held from noon to 4 p.m. Oct. 25 at FirstEnergy Park, Lakewood.       Ocean County Retired Educators plan trip
            The Ocean County Retired Educators Association is sponsoring an all-inclusive trip to see the Sight & Sound Production of the "Miracle of Christmas" in Lancaster, Pa., Dec. 8. The package includes round-trip transportation by motor coach, the Millennium Theatre show ticket, a complete dinner at the Plain & Fancy Farms Restaurant, meal gratuity and taxes.

      Paul Venier to perform in Jackson fundraiser
            A Comedy Night fundraiser starring Paul Venier and hosted by the Cassville Volunteer Fire Company, Jackson, will be held on Oct. 24 at the Miller Avenue fire station, 785 Miller Ave., Jackson. Tickets are $25 and include two free drinks and hors d'oeuvres. Tickets can be purchased at the door, but advance ticket purchase will receive preferred seating.
