Joseph A. Riesenfeld

Mr. Riesenfeld, 73, died Nov. 19, 2009, in Jackson. He came to the United States at the age of 2 when he and his parents fled Nazi Germany. Mr. Riesenfeld lived much of his adult life with his parents in Roosevelt, where he was known for running "Joe's Shop," the local newspaper and candy store. His talent for keeping track of facts and figures was well known in the community. Later in life, Mr. Riesenfeld worked in sheltered workshops, where his ability to remember numbers was often greatly appreciated. His friends and family often depended on him to remember birthdays and car inspection dates. Mr. Riesenfeld is survived by a sister, Jane Jelinek of Freehold; a brother, Richard Riesenfeld of Salt Lake City; a nephew and five nieces.
