Joint Base McGuire- Dix-Lakehurst is scheduled to host the 2010 “Beast of the East” Mud Run on Sept. 11. The Mud Run is a day of challenges, competitions, creative costumes and offers a good excuse to play in the mud, rain or shine, according to organizers. This event is open to the public.

The 10K course will take runners slipping and sliding through a variety of terrain and obstacles on asphalt, dirt, water holes and mud pits.

Early registration is now open. Registration will close Sept. 3. Participants will not be able to register the day of the event.

All Mud Run participants or teams will be divided into civilian or military categories. Each individual and team will compete for prizes within several male/female age groups. To register for the Sept. 11 event visit http://mcguiremudrun.com.
