      • Books are being collected by the Friends of the Plumsted Library for a book sale to be held in November. Fiction, nonfiction, large print, children’s books, CDs, DVDs, audio books and jigsaw puzzles will be accepted. No videotapes, Readers Digest condensed books, magazines or encyclopedias are needed.

Jackson Food Pantry welcomes donations
      The Jackson Food Pantry, in the Jackson Department of Public Works, 10 Don Connor Blvd., will be open 9-11 a.m. on the second and fourth Saturday of each month to make it easier for the community to drop off donations. The September drop-off dates are Sept. 11 and Sept. 25. All are welcome to bring in donations and receive a tour of the pantry.

      • Health Ease “Move Today” exercise program for seniors, hosted by Plumsted Senior Outreach Services (SOS), will begin at 10 a.m. Sept. 14 and continue on Tuesdays and Thursdays at the same time. All seniors are welcome to this free program. New participants will need a medical release from their doctor.

Frank Sinatra tribute Sept. 10-11 at Allaire
      Jimmy Brewster will perform a twonight tribute to Frank Sinatra in the Allaire Village Chapel at 8 p.m. Sept. 10 and 11. Tickets are $12 per person and can be purchased through PayPal or at www.allairevillage. org. Seating is limited, and advance ticket purchase is recommended. Allaire Village is located on Route 524 (Atlantic Avenue) in Wall Township.

      • An AARP Driver’s Refresher Course will be held at The Orchards at Bartley, Jackson, from 8:30 a.m. to noon Sept. 14-15. This course is designed to meet the needs of drivers over the age of 50. Participants will update their driving knowledge and skills, and learn how to avoid traffic violations and prevent accidents.
