Caregivers invited to workshop

JACKSON – Bartley Healthcare Nursing and Rehabilitation is hosting a free six-hour caregiver workshop on Feb. 29 beginning at 9 a.m. and invites members of the community who are caring for an elderly loved one at home to attend.

The workshop will be held in Bartley’s newest addition at 175 Bartley Road, Jackson, and will provide caregivers with day-to-day skills needed to care for their elderly loved one.

Members of the interdisciplinary team at Bartley Healthcare will share their knowledge and experience with attendees. A series of topics will be presented from the nursing, dietary and therapy departments. The pharmacy consultant will be presenting information about medication interactions and encourages attendees to bring their loved one’s medications in for review. (Medications should be in a bag and labeled with person’s name).

Alight breakfast will be provided at 9 a.m. during registration, as well as a lunch and beverages during the afternoon. Activities will also be available for those who bring their loved one. In the event of inclement weather on Feb. 29, the workshop will be rescheduled for March 7.
